Western Governors University will award 891 bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business to graduating students

from all over the United States during its Western Governors University Earns Top 10 Ranking from consumer group geteducated.com. Western Governors University’s programs ranked eighth in affordability among 391 regionally accredited online bachelor’s degree programs in business and management.

According to salaswildthoughts.blogspot.com, Undergraduate tuition for Western Governors University’s College of Business programs is $2,890 per six-month term, or $23,120 for four years. However, because WGU uses a competency-based academic model that requires students to demonstrate competency in degree subjects in order to advance, students with prior education or experience or those who can commit additional time to study can often accelerate their programs, completing their degrees in less than four years, saving both time and money. Unlike most colleges, WGU does not charge tuition based on semesters or credit hours — it is charged for six-month terms that can begin on the first day of any month.
According to Vicky Philips, GetEducated’s founder, who began rating online colleges 20 years ago, students should compare cost and other benefits carefully before enrolling in online education. “Western Governor’s is a fairly new university, so many may not know the name. Laptops and desktops today boot-up pretty slow, taking up to a minute or more to load the operating system and that’s mostly because of the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System). A team of researchers from UEFI Forum aims to replace the actual BIOS with the UEFI interface (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface), which will reduce boot times to a few seconds.

Laptops and desktops today take their time when it comes to boot an operating system, sometimes the boot time reaching 1 minute or more. This delay is caused by the BIOS interface that was first used in 1979 and is still used today. The BIOS works “behind” the operating and controls the interaction of hardware components. Therefore, the BIOS has the role of booting-up the OS as well as identifying and initializing hardware components.
 It’s possible that soon we are going to say goodbye to the old BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) and replace it with the new UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface), according to the research team at UEFI Forum. This will allow computers to boot in a few seconds as Mark Doran, chief of UEFI Forum says:

  “At the moment, it can be 25- to 30 seconds of boot time before you see the first bit of OS sign-on. With UEFI, we’re getting it down to a handful of seconds. It’s not quite instant-on, but it is already a lot better than conventional BIOS can manage.”

 While the old BIOS is struggling to keep up with the technological advance, the new UEFI is more efficient: it can easily handle multiple USB devices as well as the last generation of touchscreens or gesture-based interfaces. Researchers are expecting computers to feature the new UEFI, but nobody knows exactly when this technology will come to the consumer market. The Asus N73 17.3-inch entertainment laptop is now available in the United States.

Newegg has started offering the N73JN-X1 model with the Intel Core i5-450M 2.4GHz processor, Nvidia GeForce GT 335M 1GB dedicated graphics, 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 500GB hard drive, and a DVD writer. According to earlier reports, the N73 has Bang & Olufsen ICEpower audio technology and USB 3.0, but these features are not listed on the product page.
Its LED-backlit display has a resolution of 1600×900 pixels.
The laptop also includes a 2MP web camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and an HDMI output.

The Jenny Craig spokesperson, who lost 50 pounds on the weight loss program, accomplished her latest goal by running her first half marathon on Sunday -- and completing it in a remarkable two hours and 27 minutes.

"I feel so happy! It's awesome!" Rue told PEOPLE at the finish line. "Now I understand what people have been saying about having a runner's high. I'm in the best shape of my life. Less than seven, eight months ago I couldn't even run a mile. This has been really empowering." Rue, 32, ran the City to Sea half marathon, which started in downtown San Luis Obispo, California, and ended in Shell Beach, California, with her personal trainer, Christopher Lane.

"When the race started we were being passed by hundreds of people," Rue said. "I was a little discouraged and I tried to joke with Christopher by saying 'hey, I don't think we're going to win this thing!'" But she didn't let herself get psyched out and instead, focused on keeping the 12-minute mile pace she trained for during the summer. "Once we settled into our pace, I just started enjoying the run," said Rue. Following her every step of the way was fiancé Kevin Price, who filmed Rue along the route, and even ran alongside her "for about two-tenths of a mile," she said, laughing.
After the race, Rue celebrated by going out the lunch (she had a healthy grilled chicken salad!) with Price and friends. "I wore my medal to lunch," she said. "I had to.
