Britney Jean Spears is an American pop singer, dancer, songwriter, actress,& author!! Britney Jean Spears was born on December 2, 1981, in Kentwood, Louisiana. Her pursuit of a musical career has began at an early age. She was singing for the church choir and by the time she was 8 she had already participated in various talent searches. At the age of 8, Britney auditioned for the popular children's variety show, The New Mickey Mouse Club, but was refused because of her young age. Britney spent the next three summers in New York, where she studied at the famous Off Broadway Dance Center and at the Professional Performing Arts School. She began appearing in various Broadway productions.

Britney Spears' career has been debated in many spheres. The affect that she has had on teenage girls in particular has been discussed in drawing rooms across America and in academic group discussions. The album was rage with the pre-teenage and teenage crowd. By the time she had released her second album, she had already co-authored a book titled Heart to Heart with her mother, Lynne Spears. Britney Spears became a brand ambassador for Pepsi in 2001. She also co-authored another book with her mother called A Mother's Gift. She even entered the restaurant industry with her own establishment, Nyla but it was a commercial failure and has shut down. In the year 2000, she again created a stir at MTV Video Music Awards by dressing up in flesh colored outfit which made her look scantily clad. She also signed a contract with Pepsi to do their T.V commercials promoting their soft drink for $10,000 million upwards in 2001. In the same year she hosted the American Music Awards. Britney's penchant for the bizarre took a new twist when she married childhood friend Jason Alexander in an impromptu ceremony in the Little White Wedding Chapel on the Las Vegas Strip on 3rd January 2004. The couple agreed to an annulment later the same day. On 18 September 2004, Britney Spears legally married Kevin Federline, a professional dancer.
